It’s exciting to see the landscape transformed from humble lot markers to finished homes that families will make memories in. We’re 1/3 sold at Anets Woods. Here’s a sneak peak at 5 other homes under construction.

The retention pond is one of the key elements in the Anets Woods landscape plan. Workers have been busy planting hundreds of shrubs and native perennials so that can become established before Winter dormancy takes hold. The fall color from the Autumn Blaze maples are also beautiful this time of year.

Our model home at Anets Woods—which features the New Haven floor plan—is really coming to life! While we first worked on the model’s exterior and its shingle elevation, now we’re hard at work inside.

The interior is coming together as oak hardwood flooring is being laid in the foyer, living, dining room, den, kitchen, breakfast nook and powder room. Beautiful oak stairs, railings and balusters are being installed going up to the second floor. And the vent-free gas fireplace in the living room and structural walls in the kitchen are going in.

Soon, we’ll be adding the granite/marble surround to the fireplace, which will feature mountain cedar logs and a Wescott primed mantel, and installing the stunning kitchen and bath cabinetry and countertops.

Stay tuned for more model updates as we get closer to our grand opening this fall!

In early 2017, Northbrook residents Bob and Christa Bolt were just starting to think a move to a maintenance-free community designed for empty nesters might be in their future in the next 10 years. Both in their 50s, the couple was in no hurry to leave their current home and neighborhood. But that quickly changed when they heard about Anets Woods, a new-construction community of 32 luxury single-family homes not far from their current residence.

When they learned about the Northbrook location, sophisticated home designs and serene secluded setting that Anets Woods offers, The Bolts jumped at the chance to purchase one of the first homes at the maintenance-free community under construction by Edward R. James Companies (ERJ).

“We love the Voltz Road location and all the elements of Anets Woods, such as the charm of the wooded setting and unique stone features on the outside of the homes,” said Christa Bolt. “Both the exterior and interior finishes of the homes were factors in our decision to buy a home now and not wait. We weren’t sure there would be another opportunity like this in this area and didn’t want to miss out.”

Another factor that played a role in their decision to buy a home at Anets Woods was the community’s great selection of floor plans and ability to make customizations. The couple appreciated the wide range of design options, plus the fact they would have a dedicated ERJ designer to help with the selection process.

Christa drives by Anets Woods a few times a week and is very excited about the progress so far on the community’s landscaping, paved roads, and the model home under construction.

“We know E.R. James really cares about the ambiance of the community with all the trees that have been planted and the charm of features like the entry stone,” she added. “We’ve seen a great attention to detail all over the community so far.”

As construction progresses this summer at Anets Woods, the community is really taking shape as we continue to break ground on new home sites. We are currently digging and preparing the sites for lots 6, 18, and 29, which have been purchased. The foundation is in for lot 6, and we recently poured the foundation for lot 18. We are digging lot 29 now. Lots 6 and 18 overlook wooded areas and the retention pond, which will include a fountain. Lot 29 is near the community’s entrance and backs up to a wooded conservation area. Stay tuned for more construction updates!

The Anets Woods entry sign was recently installed onto the stacked stone wall.

Now that that roads have been paved it’s easier to see the site and the locations of each home in the development.

It’s always exciting to see the rooms of a new home take shape. In the photos below you can see the rough interior framing and insulation going into the walls. You can see the plumbing and electrical lines. In the next several weeks drywall and finishes will start being applied.

Exceptional Homes . . . Exceptional Places

Unlike most builders who install only minimal landscaping, Edward R. James’ communities are exceptional. Our tagline is “exceptional homes . . . exceptional places” and the landscaping is an integral part of what makes our developments exceptional.

Before the first home is even completed, we’ve installed hundreds of trees and shrubs, strategically placed outcropping stones, and dressed the sloping bedlines with lush green turf grass.

Just wait and see what this entry looks like in the weeks and months ahead.

All models at Anets Woods will feature James Hardie siding, selected for aesthetic appeal, durability, and low-maintenance. Unlike natural cedar which requires nearly annual maintenance, James Hardie siding is a cement-based product and will keep looking good year after year with little to no maintenance.
