In early 2017, Northbrook residents Bob and Christa Bolt were just starting to think a move to a maintenance-free community designed for empty nesters might be in their future in the next 10 years. Both in their 50s, the couple was in no hurry to leave their current home and neighborhood. But that quickly changed when they heard about Anets Woods, a new-construction community of 32 luxury single-family homes not far from their current residence.

When they learned about the Northbrook location, sophisticated home designs and serene secluded setting that Anets Woods offers, The Bolts jumped at the chance to purchase one of the first homes at the maintenance-free community under construction by Edward R. James Companies (ERJ).

“We love the Voltz Road location and all the elements of Anets Woods, such as the charm of the wooded setting and unique stone features on the outside of the homes,” said Christa Bolt. “Both the exterior and interior finishes of the homes were factors in our decision to buy a home now and not wait. We weren’t sure there would be another opportunity like this in this area and didn’t want to miss out.”

Another factor that played a role in their decision to buy a home at Anets Woods was the community’s great selection of floor plans and ability to make customizations. The couple appreciated the wide range of design options, plus the fact they would have a dedicated ERJ designer to help with the selection process.

Christa drives by Anets Woods a few times a week and is very excited about the progress so far on the community’s landscaping, paved roads, and the model home under construction.

“We know E.R. James really cares about the ambiance of the community with all the trees that have been planted and the charm of features like the entry stone,” she added. “We’ve seen a great attention to detail all over the community so far.”

As construction progresses this summer at Anets Woods, the community is really taking shape as we continue to break ground on new home sites. We are currently digging and preparing the sites for lots 6, 18, and 29, which have been purchased. The foundation is in for lot 6, and we recently poured the foundation for lot 18. We are digging lot 29 now. Lots 6 and 18 overlook wooded areas and the retention pond, which will include a fountain. Lot 29 is near the community’s entrance and backs up to a wooded conservation area. Stay tuned for more construction updates!

The Anets Woods entry sign was recently installed onto the stacked stone wall.

The idea of a living near the office or workplace is not new. It was the norm in America before the advent of the automobile, when miles of pavement stretched the distance between where people lived and where they worked for the first time.

Now that that roads have been paved it’s easier to see the site and the locations of each home in the development.

It’s always exciting to see the rooms of a new home take shape. In the photos below you can see the rough interior framing and insulation going into the walls. You can see the plumbing and electrical lines. In the next several weeks drywall and finishes will start being applied.

Edward R. James Companies is proud to announce the closeout of another successful community—Brighton Mews, our 29-unit luxury townhome development in the heart of Park Ridge, Ill. Key to the community’s fast sales pace—it sold out in less than two years—was the rare opportunity to buy new construction in this sought-after, inner-ring suburb just steps from the community’s bustling downtown.

Sales of newly-constructed homes rebounded in May, and government data was revised to show a stronger spring selling season than had been previously reported, another sign that the housing market remains on firm footing.

Anets Woods, a new community of 32 maintenance-free luxury single-family homes under construction by Edward R. James Companies at 1230 Voltz Road in Northbrook, is taking shape as the community’s entrance has recently been completed with the installation of lush landscaping and Pennsylvania fieldstone. A model home is also under construction at the community.

With 105 closings in 2016, Builder Magazine has ranked Edward R. James in the top 10 local leaders.
